.BE domain TLD is the country code TLD for Belgium and is regulated by DNS Belgium. Apart from common domain registration requirements, it has certain regulation which is required if you are registering, transferring, renewing, or deleting .BE domain.

Rules and Requirements -.BE Domain Policy:

Registration:

1. Register the domain with address reside in the territory of a member state of the European Union or one of the following: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.

The registrant must keep their contact details (name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number) up-to-date to avoid registration termination.

2. Registry regularly reviews Whois information for each domain you register and will send an email to the registrant’s email address to confirm its accuracy if it is suspected to be inaccurate. Failure to confirm might lead to suspension of domains.

3. Once you register, the registry might request for “official identification documents” through registered mail id to acquire full enjoyment of the domain.

3. If you want to target specific regions and improve your online presence, you can choose “.brussels and .vlaanderen”, both managed by the same registry.

4. You can register IDN domain name in the below languages only with certain character.

Nameserver Requirement:

1. There are no restriction in updating the nameservers or have any specific requirements to be assigned for the domain.

2. In case there is any restriction (hold) placed on the domain, the nameservers you have updated will get replaced with the registry nameservers.

 

Renewal:

1. You can do explicit renewal for the .BE Domain but better to be done at least 60 days before the expiry date.

2. If the domain isn’t renewed before the expiry date, it directly goes into the redemption period with an added cost for renewal and redemption charges.

 

Transfer:

1. You can transfer the .BE Domain at anytime which doesn’t have the 60 day lock period.

2. Authentication/EPP codes expire after each new mail request. Transfer codes must be used within a limited time, or a new code is required.

3. Once domain is transferred, the registration period will start from transfer date.

Note: Please make sure to provide accurate contact information and a valid EPP code, and verify with the latest received transfer approval email to avoid triggering the error “Request recognized as harmful and will not be processed.”

 

Deletion:

1. If the domain is not renewed, it will automatically cancelled and available for registering again.

2. For immediate domain deletion, please contact us within 3 days of registering the domain.
