STEP 1: WordPress Installation
This is the mandatory step that should be followed before moving your site. Install the WordPress software in your website.
STEP 2: Installing Plugin
The site can be moved only by using the plugin ‘FG Joomla to WordPress’ plugin. So, install the ‘FG Joomla to WordPress’ plugin in your WordPress.
STEP 3: Making Connection between Joomla to WordPress
In the WordPress dashboard, click on Tools -> Import -> Joomla (FG). Next, you need to import the Joomla Database Settings.
Input Joomla Database Settings in the boxes which are provided.
Then, enter the URL of the website in which the Joomla to WordPress import will reside and finally click on ‘Test the Connection’. You will receive a success message when you have connected to the Joomla Database.
STEP 4: Finding the Joomla Database Settings
In cPanel, under the ‘Files’ section, click on the ‘File Manager’ icon.
Next, select ’Web Root’ and check off the box ‘Show Hidden Files’ and click on ‘Go’. After that expand the ‘public_html’ folder and click on the folder which contains Joomla Installation.
Click on ‘Edit Code’ and copy the displayed code. After that, follow the above steps ‘Making Connection between Joomla to WordPress’.
STEP 5: Importing Joomla
In the WordPress Import Joomla (FG), check off the boxes for the content you want to import. This is available under the ‘Behaviour’ section.
Now, click on ‘Import content from Joomla to WordPress’.
Finally, the contents will be imported from Joomla to WordPress
